Tempranillo is Spain’s most popular grape (they actually call it the Noble Grape) and is used in making some of their finest blends. A bit like our Profile Four Five, where we took all the characteristics we loved from our popular Profiles Four and Five and combined them to create a tempranillo-forward blend. It’s the perfect balance of a full mid palate with a mildly tannic finish and just enough acidity to balance it out. It may not be royal, but it’s still one of our most popular blends.
Like Pinot Noir, Tempranillo grapes have thin skins and they grow in big bunches. Their body isn’t quite as rich as Cabernet Sauvignon, and yet it is still temptingly complex with layers from start to finish.
In the BOXT version of Tempranillo, you’ll get a gorgeous garnet red wine that’s fruit-forward, dry and approachable, full of ripe berry and dark cherry aromas, with hints of vanilla and baking spice.

FUN FACT
Tempranillo wine, often referred to as the "noble grape" of Spain, is known for its ability to express the terroir of the regions where it’s grown. One fun fact is that the name "Tempranillo" comes from the Spanish word "temprano," meaning "early," because the grape ripens earlier than many other varietals. This early ripening allows winemakers in regions like Rioja to harvest the grapes before the heat of late summer sets in, resulting in vibrant and complex flavors!
